In many cases, slab stone is processed in book match and diamond match formats.
The stone sawing method works as follows: the raw stone — i.e., the stone blocks — is fully secured on the saw machine's carriage, and the stone-cutting blades reciprocally cut the stones with segmented blades. The cutting time for each block depends on the hardness of the stone and takes between 24 and 32 hours.
Another method of producing slab stone is using the multi-wire machine. This machine uses diamond cutting wires and performs the cutting in a rotational manner. Cutting time using this method is shorter and usually 8 to 12 hours is sufficient to cut each stone block.
After the cutting operations, finishing steps including epoxy treatment, vein filling, grinding, and polishing are performed on the stone. These steps determine the final quality and appearance of the slab stone and ensure that the stone is ready for use in construction projects.
